Our Favorite Social Media Marketing Tools & Apps

We’re letting you in on all of our favorite tools (and tools we frankly can’t live without) when it comes to social media marketing, influencer management, and the day-to-day of #agencylife. In short, it’s our little bag of ‘tools’ and tricks.

PHOTO EDITING

Photoshop – Other than LightRoom, Photoshop is our go-to when editing photos for social media. Each photo we post for our clients goes through an editing process to make sure it is the right dimensions, we remove imperfections and tweak colors to best fit the client’s aesthetics.

Lightroom – Lightroom is where Dannielle and Rebecca spend most of their time – when they aren’t shooting, of course. This is where they have created custom presets for each of our clients so that content flows seamlessly throughout the entire brand marketing strategy.

Splice – If you are as obsessed with Instagram Reels as we are, you are probably familiar with this one. Splice allows you to upload photos and videos to create and edit videos from your phone.

VSCO & Tezza – We don’t use photo editing apps often, but when we do, it’s a close tie between VSCO and Tezza. We only really use these apps when we are reposting user-generated content and we want to perfect the original photo.

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT

Google Sheets – We use Google Sheets for our content calendars. There are other amazing tools such as Air Table that can be used for the same purposes, but old habits die hard. ;) Jordan has been using Google Sheets for content calendar management for over 10 years and, well, why fix something that isn’t broken? Our content calendars are built so that we can include captions for each social network, content previews, and space for client collaboration. Bonus: stay tuned to see how we use Google Sheets for photoshoot planning and shot lists.

Dropbox – We store everything in Dropbox! We love the team collaboration features and how easy it is to access our documents from our phones and tablets when we are on the go.

Sprout Social – When it comes to reporting & analytics, competitive analysis, and social listening, we use Sprout Social. We love how digestible the data it is and how easy it is to pull for our own reports and presentations.

Planoly – One of our favorite tools is definitely Planoly. Before we begin scheduling content, we drag and drop to make sure the Instagram feed flows seamlessly throughout the month. It is important to note, that we only use Planoly for Instagram scheduling. We schedule Facebook content through Business Manager.

EVERYDAY TOOLS

Business Manager – We manage all of our client accounts through Business Manager. This is a tool straight from Facebook themselves, so there are no API issues that we see on many other 3rd party apps. This is where we schedule Facebook posts (hot tip: rumor has it that Facebook favors content scheduled directly from Business Manager), track clients’ comments and direct messages, set up ads campaigns, track post performance, and more.

Trello – Every influencer campaign has many moving parts, so we keep of all of our influencer relations in Trello where we can track status, contracts, deliverables, and more.

Park Mobile – You can’t navigate Downtown Dallas parking without the preferred parking app; ours happens to be Park Mobile. ;)

Spotify – Our next blog should be an overview of our hours spent on Spotify and our favorite playlists and podcasts because this is a “tool” we use to keep our creative juices flowing and to stay inspired.

We’d love to hear your favorite tools on Instagram or Facebook! Let’s connect!
